Product in development · case study

AyuLens is being designed as an informational Ayurveda formulation explorer: a fast way to move from a medicine to its ingredients, properties and related knowledge without turning the product into a generic revision or quiz application.

The product idea

Ayurveda formulation information is naturally relational. A formulation contains ingredients; ingredients can connect to individual Dravyaguna profiles; properties, usage and references can be reused across multiple views. Building those relationships explicitly creates a stronger product than repeating the same text on disconnected pages.

Architecture direction

  • Structured formulation profiles
  • Ingredient entities shared across formulations
  • Expandable herb/Dravyaguna profiles with plant imagery and properties
  • Quick-view modal/drawer interactions plus full detail pages
  • A reusable knowledge layer designed for future clinician-oriented extensions

Why it matters

This is an example of designing the data model before the interface is finished. The aim is to make later expansion possible without restructuring the entire product every time a new knowledge type is added.
